This study examined various online communication platforms and explored their potential to enhance the online learning experience for college students. As the landscape of education continues to evolve towards digital platforms, understanding the effective utilization of online communication tools becomes increasingly crucial. This study analyzed existing literature and student and instructor interviews to identify key features and strategies that contribute to optimizing online learning environments. The study focused on several prominent online communication platforms, including but not limited to Discord, Facebook, Zoom, and Learning Management Systems. Each platform's unique capabilities and functionalities were evaluated in relation to their impact on student engagement, interaction, and overall learning outcomes in online educational settings. This study aimed to provide educators and instructional designers with insights into leveraging these platforms effectively. By highlighting successful implementations and best practices, the study offered practical recommendations for enhancing the quality and effectiveness of online education through improved communication tools.
