This research explores the evolving world of education in relation to online learning. Educational leadership can continuously improve communication with faculty and students which will greatly benefit student success in an online learning environment. A modified Delphi study was utilized with a panel of online educational experts to come to consensus about important topics and themes revealed through this research. The findings of this study suggest online programs are not only a priority but a necessity in our current educational and global environment. Educational leadership needs to approach this evolution with a detailed plan of action and with consistent improvement and growth of online programs. Educational leadership can support the needs of online faculty and students using various best practices and strategies that are discussed in this study. Schools at every level need to realize that online learning is not the future of education but a current, necessary element of all 21st century education.
