Jahmar Tate
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Piedmont University
The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of a behavioral based intervention program on minority student behavior. The Breakfast Club was an intervention created with the goal of improving the negative behavior of minority adolescent students. The participants in this study were minority, high school students who displayed frequent behavior problems that resulted in disciplinary referrals. This mixed-methods research was a program evaluation. Qualitative data was gathered through face-to-face interviews after the intervention. Quantitative data was gathered by administering the Student Well-Being Process Questionnaire before and after the intervention. The participants were 17 minority students who received more than five office discipline referrals during the spring semester of the 2021-2022 school year. The data analysis involved descriptive statistics, test-rater reliability analysis, dependent samples t-test, and Wilcoxon signed-rank test.
