Early Learning Network - University of Nebraska-Lincoln
Early childhood researchers from across the U.S. came together to form the Early Learning Network (ELN) in 2016 with the mission to identify policies and practices that narrow opportunity gaps and help children maintain early learning success. Early Learning Network teams share what they have learned--and what it means for early childhood education practice and policy--in a series of research briefs. The briefs summarize impact areas that have potential to positively contribute to young children's learning and development, including key takeaways and action steps for practice, policy and research. This brief focuses on the impact area of relationships. The key takeaway in this brief is: High-quality educational experiences should include educators' use of practices to (1) create and maintain positive interpersonal connections with students; and (2) promote and support positive peer relationships.
