Planning, Implementing, and Evaluating a Problem-Solving Behavior-Management Program Model: Teaching the Skills of Behavior Management toward Academic Success
Charles E. Mullins II
ProQuest LLC, Ph.D. Dissertation, Tennessee Technological University
This program model describes the phases of planning, implementing, and evaluating a program designed for Tennessee public schools to manage student behavior in at-risk populations. This program model employs a hybrid asset-based community development, logic, and interactive model to implement interventions based on the principles of applied behavior analysis (Fisher et al., 2021) and cognitive behavior therapy (Dobson, 2019). The program model is designed as a comprehensive manual to help Tennessee public schools construct their own tailored problem-solving, behavior-management solution within the established Multi-Tiered System of Supports framework (Tennessee Department of Education, 2015) to support their at-risk populations as per the Tennessee Response to Instruction and Intervention for Behavior program (Tennessee Department of Education, 2017).
