Purpose and Method of Study: The purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions of public primary school teachers in Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State regarding the prevalence and the effect of food insecurity on student learning. In this non-experimental, cross-sectional descriptive study, a survey was administered to 350 teachers in 31 public primary schools in Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State. The instrument included five demographic questions, eight closed-ended questions, and two open-ended questions. The data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 28.0 software. Findings and Conclusions: Public primary school teachers in Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State confirmed that there was a prevalence of food insecurity among their pupils. Most teachers agreed that food insecurity affects students' concentration (92.6%), contributes to student absenteeism (78.8%), impacts student learning (94%), contributes to students' misbehavior (86.3%), and hurts a child's long-term development (94.6%). Most teachers (82.8%) revealed that students in their classroom sometimes or never received the meals provided through the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme. Most teachers (99.7%) believed that providing a meal at school would improve students' concentration and participation in class, boost the morale and learning abilities of students, increase school enrolment, eradicate food theft and begging, and improve students' attendance, performance, behavior, and students' well-being. Overwhelmingly, the teachers pleaded with the government to revamp the school feeding program, evaluate, and supervise the implementation and distribution of meals in public primary schools.
