Boys' Yeshiva High School Study: Successes, Challenges, Needs, and Hopes

This qualitative study examined the Boys' Yeshiva high schools in the Northeast part of the United States. Due to the lack of research and studies on the Boys' Yeshiva high schools, it is important to portray the successes, challenges, needs, and hopes experienced in the system. The culture, leadership, and quality of education provided to the graduating students at the Boys' Yeshiva high school was explored in the study setting. The dual curriculum, financial challenges, and extended school time, creates an environment that requires analytics to process its successes and challenges in a comprehensive manner. The study participants included 10 staff members of a Boys' Yeshiva high school. Selected with purposeful sampling, the participants included an administrator, a principal, classroom teachers along with additional staff members. This study intends to increase awareness about the private sector Boys' Yeshiva high schools to capitalize on its strengths and take acknowledge its leadership to circumvent its challenges. The study provides an analysis allowing unification amongst the Boys' Yeshiva high schools to problem solve and compensate as they meet their challenges and achieve their goals.
