Factors Affecting Burnout among Charter and Public High School Teachers
John Lawrence Bussell
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Argosy University/Phoenix
This study determined if factors such as teaching in a charter or traditional public school, gender, years of experience, or teaching a subject assessed by TNReady--Tennessee's high-stakes test--affected burnout among teachers in Memphis, Tennessee. A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed, and data were collected through the administration of an online demographics survey and the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Educators Survey. Findings of the study showed that there were no statistically significant differences in frequencies of the dimensions of burnout among any of the variables.
