ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Houston Baptist University
The present study examined the perspectives of current administrators in higher education institutions on the mentorship and development of aspiring African American male administrators within higher education institutions. Selected participants were asked to complete a one hour and 30-minute semi-structured focus group interview. During this interview, the participants were asked a series of seven questions that engaged their perspectives on whether mentorship had an impact on their careers as administrators in higher education. Participants within this study were selected based on convenience and were all administrators in higher education (i.e., Dean, Assistant Dean, Associate Dean, Vice President, Assistant Vice President, Associate Vice President, President, Chancellor, Associate Vice Chancellor).
