Cultivating a Trauma-Informed School Climate in an Alternative Setting
Bethany Kathryn Anne Blumenshine
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, University of Georgia
School climate is an integral consideration for school leaders in developing a safe, supportive learning environment for students. It becomes even more important in a disciplinary alternative setting where students are often disconnected from school and engaging in risky behaviors. In order to adequately assist students and families in addressing the various behavior and academic challenges they face, this study explored the impact of trauma-informed practices on school climate, teacher perceptions, and student outcomes.
