1:1 Technology Availability in Oklahoma Public Schools
Brett Knight
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Southern Nazarene University
This quantitative correlational study accessed publicly available Oklahoma archival data to analyze the strength of the relationship between one dependent variable, the 1:1 technology score of 203 school districts, and four independent variables (socioeconomic status, community type, school district size, and school district funding sources) and was conducted with a one-way ANOVA statistical test. Additionally, the study used the outcomes of Jimenez-Castellanos' (2008) Transformative Intra-district Interdisciplinary Resource Allocation (TIDIRA) framework as a lens to analyze the study findings. The study used the Oklahoma State Department of Education's (OSDE) 2021 Annual Technology Survey, OSDE annual school report cards, and the United States Census Bureau data to define the variables used in the study. The findings in this study supported Jimenez-Castellanos' framework outcome that resource allocation can enhance access and equity and equal encouragement. Based on the statistical analysis, funding sources were the only significant relationship with 1:1 technological device availability.
