The consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to be experienced around the globe. The impacts of which are most significant for children and adolescents. Long COVID is one of the persistent outcomes of the pandemic that can be catastrophic for youth who experience it. Although medical research remains ongoing in developing our understanding of this chronic condition, schools continue to play a key role in supporting youth suffering from symptoms of long COVID. School psychologists can provide leadership and guidance in helping schools develop best practices in identifying and supporting students utilizing an interdisciplinary framework with experts in the schools and in the community. Rigorous collaboration with medical providers on this new and evolving condition is critical to supporting continued academic, social, and emotional success for children and adolescents. Every case is different, and as a result, school teams need to work together in developing accommodations and support strategies individualized to student needs who are living with this illness. School psychologists continue to be pivotal in supporting youth through this pandemic. The final product of this study can serve as training for school psychologists to provide school teams in better understanding this condition, and processes that can be utilized in adopting best practices in serving this vulnerable population.
