English Language Learning Teaching Approaches in the Elementary Classroom

The Systematic Literature Review (SLR) compiled and synthesized information to assist in building a well-rounded English Language program. The SLR used 190 articles to articulate the importance of creating a positive learning environment while teaching differentiated lessons. The collaboration between the mainstream teacher and the ELL specialist assisted the mainstream teachers' knowledge in building a classroom around necessary ELL approaches. The SLR noted that vocabulary acquisition, oral language development, and listening comprehension are all key components in a language-rich and ELL-focused classroom.
