Supporting Students to Be Independent Learners: State and District Actions for the Pandemic Era
Aspen Institute
In early May 2020, The Aspen Institute published "Fostering Connectedness in the Pandemic Era: Policy Recommendations to Support Social, Emotional, and Academic Development." The recommendations were developed by a diverse group of education leaders convened to explore the importance of safe and nurturing relationships in school and the long-term implications of the coronavirus pandemic for social, emotional, and academic development. This new resource builds on those initial recommendations with a deeper focus on culturally and linguistically responsive and sustaining approaches.
