Workplace Bullying (WPB) can be toxic within institutions of higher education, and a major problem, carrying a wide range of consequences (Watanabe & Falci, 2016; Wright & Khatri, 2015). Instances of bullying in a work environment are defined as incivility that causes disruptive behaviors (Watanabe & Falci, 2016; Wright & Khatri, 2015). Bullying entails an aggressive overt or covert behavioral harassment that can cause emotional damage to the victim. Workplace Bullying is an emerging issue that colleagues, managers, and administrators need to alternatively address. The WPB phenomenon has recently become a topic of interest for clinical researchers. The main problems of WPB are the inability to understand what this behavior means and the damaging coercion toward employees that prevents them from reporting claims. Noticing the problems, this quantitative study with a causal-comparative design examined the relationship between the dependent variable of job satisfaction and the independent variable of workplace bullying in institutions of higher education. Toxic workplace environment was measured by a modified version of the NAQ-R whereby items were compressed into five scaled items where participants responded between 1 (never) and 5 (daily). In terms of age range, participants in the category of 51--55 years of age posted the highest score on the NAQ-R, indicating a relatively higher perception of a toxic work environment.
