The aim of this hearing of the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions is to foster a productive conversation about how schools are meeting the needs of veterans and service members, what more can be done to ensure veterans are not putting themselves into financial trouble in order to get an education and, ultimately identify what the committee, and the Veterans committee by extension, can do to assist with these efforts. Following the opening statement by Honorable Bernard Sanders (U.S. Senator from the State of Vermont), the following senators provide statements: (1) Honorable Richard Burr, a U.S. Senator from the State of North Carolina; (2) Honorable Tammy Baldwin, a U.S. Senator from the State of Wisconsin; (3) Honorable Al Franken, a U.S. Senator from the State of Minnesota; (4) Honorable Christopher Murphy, a U.S. Senator from the State of Connecticut; (5) Honorable Elizabeth Warren, a U.S. Senator from the State of Massachusetts; and (6) Honorable Robert P. Casey, Jr., a U.S. Senator from the State of Pennsylvania.
