The Generational Differences in Teachers' Implementation and Use of 21st Century Technology in the Elementary Classroom
Bledsoe, Kristin Scoggins
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Trevecca Nazarene University
The use of 21st century technology in education is imperative as educators attempt to prepare 21st century students for future jobs in a globally competitive and interactive digital workplace. The primary purpose of this mixed method study was to examine the effective use of 21st century technology within the working class generations of Baby Boomer, Generation X, and Millennials. Additionally, this study pursued an understanding of generational differences and initiated ways to effectively integrate 21st century technology in today's classroom. Research questions were formulated to investigate those relationships between teachers' generational affiliation, self-reported efficacy scores, and student competency scores in using 21st century technology.
