Does a Correlation Exist between Educator Effectiveness and Student Achievement?
Cook, Buckley Thomas
ProQuest LLC, Ph.D. Dissertation, Gannon University
A mixed methods approach was applied to this research study as the relationship between educator effectiveness and student achievement is explored. The purpose of this study was to assess whether a relationship exists between the utilization of the Danielson Model of Educator Effectiveness and student academic performance. More specifically, this study examined teacher's perception of the Danielson Educator Effectiveness Model and explored if there was an association between teacher proficiency levels and student academic performance levels. This study used Charlotte Danielson's Educator Effectiveness model and the standardized assessments (PSSA and Keystone exams) elementary, middle and high school students are engaged in to determine a relationship between Educator Effectiveness and student achievement.
