Data Conversations: Data Use Professional Development Series. Rhode Island Department of Education
Rhode Island Department of Education
In a school with a transparent data culture, frequent, low-stakes Data Conversations happen all the time. Although most schools engage in Data Conversations at times, there are some specific strategies and "listen-fors" that can assist educators in making these conversations more productive, such as developing a low-stakes set of questions framed using Positive Presumptions. There are three types of Data Conversations: (1) Gathering Information; (2) Guiding Improvement; and (3) Finding Solutions. This report presents information and exercises to engage schools in Data Conversations.
