The National Council for Accreditation for Teacher Education (NCATE) recommended teacher preparation programs measure teacher candidates' disposition toward diverse learners. The conduction of the quantitative cross-sectional survey design utilized the Quick Discrimination Index Survey (QDI), a Likert-type tool that used reversed or negatively phrased items to measure aspects related to culture, race, and gender equity. Ninety-seven predominantly White, female teacher candidates enrolled in undergraduate, Masters, alternative routes teacher preparation programs at a Northwest university took the survey. The findings from the three teacher preparation programs revealed no significant differences between the cognitive racial attitudes, affective racial attitudes, cognitive gender attitudes, and teacher candidates' disposition toward diverse learners. An implication of the results suggested that to comply with NCATE's recommendation to measure teacher candidates' disposition toward diverse learners university stakeholders might create a multiple-layered measurement tool, such as triangulation. Triangulation was a process of substantiated evidence from different methods of data collection. University stakeholders could design a measurement tool using a Likert-type scale to assess teacher candidates' disposition toward diverse learners followed by short answer questions related to the factors culture, racial, or gender attitudes measured by the QDI.
