This applied dissertation was a program evaluation study, which was conducted to assess the educational outcomes of the adult learners compared to the traditional learners, as well as the satisfaction with learning while enrolled in the program. The level of satisfaction of all graduates was assessed for comparison between the traditional learners and adult learners, and no significant difference was found in overall satisfaction or in outcomes. There were significant differences found for numerous individual items of satisfaction, and significant differences in numerous demographic items. The study also performed a qualitative analysis of the adult learners' comments and responses to the open-ended questions on the survey, which proved to be a limitation when not examining the comments of the traditional learners as well. The intent of the evaluation study was to gain an informed understanding of the levels of adult learner success and satisfaction, and to seek input from recent graduates as to ways the program may be able improve the educational offerings for the success of its adult learners, without compromising the educational offerings for the success of its traditional learners, as well as the integrity of the curriculum. The Graduate Student Satisfaction Survey developed for this research was refined utilizing the iterative review and modify methodology with the expert assistance of both a formative advisory committee and a summative advisory committee to establish content validity and a comprehensive survey. The qualitative portion of the survey explored the perceptions, feelings, and satisfaction levels of the graduates, which added clarity to various ratings of satisfaction. The combined quantitative and qualitative data were analyzed with recommendations made to the program's curriculum committee, faculty, and university administration.
