The problem examined in the study was how microinequities affect organizational productivity and performance as a result of employee exclusion, which may lead to morale issues and problems with retention. The purpose of the study was to investigate the potential effect of micromessaging on performance and productivity in information technology organizations. The research questions addressed the correlation between organizational cultures and how information technology leaders are perceived to have micromessaging behaviors. The theoretical foundation of the study consisted of the communication theory, which provided insight into organizational communication and focused on how people gain information, shape opinions, and make decisions in the workplace. Data were collected from 181 IT professionals via an online survey. Correlation analyses were performed to test the hypotheses. A Spearman analysis showed a significant negative relationship between clan culture and micromessaging behaviors. A Spearman analysis also showed a significant positive relationship between clan culture and person-organization fit. There was no significant relationship between the other organizational cultures and micromessaging behaviors and person-organization fit. Implications for positive social change include understanding micromessaging and organizational culture, which may provide leaders the knowledge needed to understand how to improve the corporate culture within their organizations.
