This bulletin is the third in a series of annual publications issued by the Cooperative Research Program of the Office of Education. Its purpose is to provide practitioners, researchers, and others interested in education with information concerning research projects that are being supported under the Cooperative Research Program. A brief description of each project initiated during fiscal year 1959 is included. Each description presents a statement of the problem under investigation, lists the major objectives, and describes the research procedures to be followed. At the end of each description are listed the name and title of the investigator, the name of the institution which he represents, the number of the project, its duration, and its beginning and completion dates. Since most of the research described in this bulletin is still underway, no findings are reported. This bulletin is divided into five sections, as follows: (1) Research on Students; (2) Research on Teachers; (3) Research on Teaching and Learning; (4) Research on Administrative Problems; and (5) Educational Research Progress, Theory, and Methodology. The following are appended: (1) Investigators on Cooperative Research Projects Contracted during Fiscal 1959; (2) Locations in Which Research Projects Were Initiated during Fiscal 1959; and (3) Numerical List of Projects.
