This was a study of Adult Multiple Intelligences, investigating whether there would be a wide range of differences or a fairly standard outcome when the AMI survey was administered to two adult student populations. The second purpose for this study was to observe the reactions of the two different populations when they became aware of their individual domains of dominance. The two populations participating were disabled adult learners and non-disabled adult learners; all were students registered in courses at a community college. Investigation of the topic of the MI survey being utilized in the adult area of education revealed that there have been limited studies done involving this higher education population. A study conducted to improve areas of education in adult literacy programs addressed several of the same situations and outcomes found in college programs for the disabled adult student. Overall, this was a positive and enlightening process for both the participants and the researcher. One of the outstanding factors of the entire study was that all students developed an insatiable desire to delve deeper into their newly found abilities. The general consensus was the disbelief that this was not a standard segment of the new student assessment evaluation. It was determined that future use of the AMI findings would be a major asset in educational and other life choices. The AMI survey opened up a new view of self for each of the disabled students.
