Long-Term Effects of a Brief, Video-Based Parenting Education Program on Parenting Knowledge, Attitudes, and Self-Efficacy in College Students

Scope and Method of Study: The focus of this project was to evaluate the effectiveness of a brief parent education program, as a teaching and preventative tool for nonexpectant individuals. The study was designed to test whether or not this parent education program would be effective long-term in positively impacting parenting knowledge, approval of ineffective parenting practices, approval of nurturing parenting practices, and self-efficacy. Findings and Conclusions: This brief parent education intervention was effective long term in positively impacting parenting knowledge, approval of ineffective parenting practices, and self-efficacy towards parenting.
