Arizona Mathematics Standard Articulated by Grade Level, Grade 5
Arizona Department of Education
Every student should understand and use all concepts and skills from the previous grade levels. The standard is designed so that new learning builds on preceding skills. Communications, Problem-solving, Reasoning & Proof, Connections, and Representation are the process standards that are embedded throughout the teaching and learning of all mathematical strands. This document presents the Arizona Mathematics Standard for grade 5. Each strand is followed by a brief explanation of the companion concept. Information is organized into a tabulated form, with 3 column headers. They are entitled: (1) Performance Objectives; (2) Process Integration; and (3) Explanations and Examples.
