Access and Equity for All Students: Meeting the Needs of Students with Disabilities. Report 09-15
Angeli, Mallory
California Postsecondary Education Commission
Access and equity for all students in California colleges and universities continues to be a high priority of the California Postsecondary Education Commission (CPEC). Over the past year, CPEC staff conducted research, collected data, convened an advisory committee and hosted a panel of service providers and students. They identified areas where services should be expanded. It is apparent that there is a need for increased access to instructional materials in alternative formats as well as developing campus climates that are responsive to students with disabilities. This report presents policy recommendations in the areas of campus climate, alternative instructional materials, professional development, and student services. The recommendations in this report were adopted by the California Postsecondary Commission at its meeting on June 9, 2009.
