Washington Higher Education Coordinating Board
The state of Washington has a long-standing commitment to postsecondary education opportunities for all students, regardless of income. The purpose of this report is to provide the members of the Higher Education Coordinating Board with: (1) An overview of state, federal, and institutional financial aid in Washington; (2) A description of notable events and activities during the past year; (3) A detailed accounting of state aid program expenditures in the 2007-08 academic year and projected spending for the 2008-09 academic year; and (4) A separate review of the GEAR UP program activity.
