Association for Children of New Jersey
The "ACNJ Child Advocate" is published three times a year by the Association for Children of New Jersey. ACNJ collects, analyzes, and distributes information on the well-being of children in New Jersey so that policymakers can pinpoint problems and work toward solutions. It reports data on key indicators of child well-being in each county and in major cities through its Kids Count publications. This issue of "ACNJ Child Advocate" contains the following articles: (1) Preschool Expansion Plan Meets with Applause--and Questions; (2) Preschool Expansion: A Smart Move that Must Be Done Right (Cecilia Zalkind); (3) Hear or Eat? Rising Energy Costs Force Rough Choices; (4) Placing the Burden Where It Belongs in Special Education Hearings; (5) Helping Working Families Apply for Vital Tax Credits; and (6) Proposed State Budget Paints Mixed Picture for Children.
