Everyday Learning about Managing Angry Feelings. Everyday Learning Series. Volume 5, Number 2
Szarkowicz, Diane Louise
Early Childhood Australia
The Everyday Learning Series has been developed to focus attention on the every day life experiences of early childhood and to offer insight about how parents and care givers can make the most of these experiences. Having angry feelings or feeling aggressive is normal. Most children learn to manage such feelings in safe and acceptable ways, however sometimes children have trouble managing their feelings and additional support is needed. This book outlines a range of positive strategies to assist care givers and parents to give young children ways of developing self-control and expressing feelings safely. Following an introduction, the table of contents is divided into 7 chapters: (1) Babies; (2) Toddlers; (3) Pre School and Early School; (4) When to Get Help; (5) Books to Share with Children; (6) Resources for Parents and Carers; and (7) References.
