Turkish Preservice Special Education Teachers' Experiences, Perspectives and Expectations on Use of Technology: Integrating Technology in the College Classroom
Basal, Mine; Kurubacak, Gulsun
Online Submission, Paper presented at the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education International Conference (Albuquerque, NM, 2003)
The use and integration of the new technologies, such as the Internet, World Wide Web, new computer software, etc., in educational milieus have been enormously growing for nearly two decades. Not only do these new technologies make an impact in general education, but also within preservice special education teachers who work with one of the diverse groups in the societies. However, it is observed that there are divergence approaches to use and integrate the new technologies into the Special Education Programs in Turkey. The major concern in this study is to examine and define preservice special education teachers' experiences, perspectives and expectations on the use and integration of the technology. A distance education professor and a professor of Special Education in Turkey have collaborated on the use and integration of technology in the College of Education for studying the dynamics of change in an era of electronic technologies.
