Power Teaching
Fluellen, Jerry E., Jr.
Online Submission
Power Teaching weaves four factors into a seamless whole: standards, teaching thinking, research based strategies, and critical inquiry. As a prototype in its first year of development with an urban fifth grade class, the power teaching model connects selected district standards, thinking routines from Harvard University Project Zero Research Center, Marzano's research based strategies for improving student achievement, and the critical inquiry (How do learners make thinking visible?). These factors become a framework for teaching and learning in the 21st century. (A list of 14 suggested readings is also included.)
