Preparing Reading Professionals: A Collection from the International Reading Association

This collection draws on material from IRA journals and other publications to complement Standards for Reading Professionals. It will enable the reader to visualize how a particular element of the standards might look in their own program. The collection is organized into sections corresponding to the five standards: Foundational knowledge; Instructional strategies and curriculum materials; Assessment, diagnosis, and evaluation; Creating a literate environment; and Professional development. The text will appeal to all reading professionals for its focus on professional expertise, reading research, and reading instruction.
