Rogers, Nelson
Association of Canadian Community Colleges
Of the many roles colleges are called upon to play, the role of partner in community development is a significant one. The visibility and importance of this function is particularly evident in rural and remote communities. These locations provide excellent opportunities to examine the dynamics of this interaction, and gain an understanding that can be used to enhance the ability of colleges to work with their communities to achieve important goals. This study examined over 60 projects identified by the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) as exemplary practices in community development in rural and remote communities. The following are appended: (1) Methodology; and (2) Questionnaire.
