This paper discusses email journaling for those hoping to become a teacher. The author discusses an innovative format she designed for journal entries that revolutionized her field experience supervision practices and those of other supervisors with whom she has shared this format. It has vastly improved the quality of the teacher-candidate's classroom experiences as well as the depth and quality of their reflections. Now, journal entries are distinguished, thoughtful, and sharply focused on the themes and domains involved in becoming an exemplary teacher. This paper describes this innovative journaling format that is driven by identified domains such as: becoming an instructional leader, becoming an expert in a school context, becoming a learning theorist, becoming a curriculum designer as well as becoming a master practitioner.
