The purpose of this hearing before the Subcommittee on Courts, the Internet, and Intellectual Property was to consider H.R. 1839, the "Youth Smoking Prevention and State Revenue Enforcement Act." The bill would authorize State attorneys to bring a civil action seeking injunctive relief in an appropriate U.S. district court for violations of the Jenkins Act.
