This report compiles the proceedings from a national forum of the Canadian Child Care Federation held in October 1998, which provided an opportunity for early childhood educators, practitioners, and researchers to share knowledge, learn from each other, and network with colleagues. The agenda included 3 keynote speeches and over 35 workshops on current Canadian early childhood research. The keynote speeches appear here in both French and English; summaries of workshop presentations are published in the language in which they were presented at the forum. The topics for the keynote addresses are: the impact of early experience on child development, the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child, and child poverty. Workshop topics include family child care, community development, work-family relationships, professional development, child care partnerships, inclusive child care centers, child care administration, First Nations child care, training issues, and diversity issues.
