This study evaluated the effectiveness of the Community Awareness Motivation Partnership (C.A.M.P.) theater program, a one-hour sex education program for adolescents. Four hundred and twenty adolescents between the ages of 13 and 19 participated in a repeated measures pre/post test design study. The majority of this sample is Latino. Results indicate that adolescents did not often communicate about sexual issues with their parents. The findings suggest that post-theater intervention participants were more likely to delay intercourse and had an increased understanding of abstinence. The results suggest that a brief theater intervention is effective as a starting point for changing the sexual intentions of Latino adolescents. (Contains 47 references and 4 tables.) (Author/GCP)
