Financing Strategies To Address Barriers to Learning. A Center Quick Training Aid.
California Univ., Los Angeles. Center for Mental Health in Schools.
With dwindling budgets, a critical focus of all reform efforts is how to underwrite the costs of new mental health intervention approaches. For communities and schools, the range of mental health and psychosocial concerns confronting young people requires a vision that encompasses much more than providing services for those with mental disorders. The activity must entail a multifaceted continuum of programs and services. This quick training aid presents a brief set of resources to guide those providing an in-service training session on financing strategies for such programs. The packet contains a brief introduction to the topic with key talking points, fact sheets and practice notes, tools and handouts, and a directory of model programs and additional resources. (GCP)
