This report shows net instructional unit costs from fiscal year 1995 through fiscal year 2000. The five sections are: (1) Comparison of Fiscal Year 2000 Net Instructional Unit Cost with Previous Years; (2) Net Instructional Unit Cost in Illinois Public Community Colleges Since Fiscal Year 1995; (3) Fiscal Year 2000 Net Instructional Unit Cost, Full Instructional Unit Cost, and Total Instructional Unit Cost; (4) Fiscal Year 2000 Indirect Instructional Support Cost; and (5) Fiscal Year 2000 Net Instructional Unit Cost by Fundable Instructional Categories. Some of the highlights presented include: (1) the fiscal year 2000 state average net instructional unit cost was $187.34, representing an increase of $9.01 (5.0%) from the fiscal year 1999 state average of $178.33; and (2) public service expenditures decreased $0.4 million in fiscal year 2000 to $126.6 million, expenditures that include noncredit community education and community service activities for governmental agencies, local business and industry, and the general community. Appended are the total expenditure reports and a state summary of net instructional unit cost per credit hour by the classification of Instructional Program codes used for all public community colleges in Illinois) within the program classification system.
