This journal is a monthly publication of the Japan Association for Language Teaching (JALT), a nonprofit professional organization of language teachers dedicated to the improvement of language learning and teaching in Japan. JALT's publications and events serve as vehicles for the exchange of new ideas and techniques, and a means of keeping abreast of new developments in a rapidly changing field. Each issue of the journal contains several sections and departments: feature articles; opinions and perspectives; net nuggets; my share (where teachers share some of their most successful and innovative teaching techniques and classroom activities); JALT undercover (a survey of some of the latest developments in the field of language teaching and learning); and JALT departments, which includes news, a bulletin board, events of national significance, JALT chapter reports and meetings, a conference calendar, a job information center with a listing of positions, and an advertiser index.
