This booklet is the fourth in a series designed to assist parents who are home-schooling their adolescent children and focuses on teaching a foreign language, history, science, and physical education. The articles in this booklet are: (1) "Habla Espanol? Tackling Foreign Language," examining effective and ineffective foreign language instruction experiences, current instructional materials, and strategies recommended by foreign language hobbyists; (2) "History for Everyone: Beyond Names, Dates, and Places," examining how adolescent history study differs from that by younger children, and discussing creative approaches to studying history; (3) "Learning and Doing Science," examining the dichotomy of classroom science and real world science and providing suggestions for approaches to science with teenagers; and (4) "Lifetime Fitness," focusing on accessing sports and lifetime fitness opportunities within the community.
