This book presents a discussion of new ideas for education and the factors needed to approach educational change. It is designed to be easily read by anyone interested in education. It considers educational and multi-disciplinary practices, and the concerns that impact education and student success. The book is divided into four sections. Section One, "Concerns Impacting Education and Student Success," includes topics on individual development; student skill development; student behavioral concerns; and student destructive behaviors towards others. Section Two, "Essential Elements for Consideration," includes what success looks like; skill development (personal, social, emotional, behavioral); how people learn and change; and the role of the school climate. Section Three "The Plan-A Model to Follow," describes a comprehensive classroom group guidance systems model. Section Four, "Solutions for Student Success," discusses topics on the plan of education for the new millennium including self concept measures, student skill development, and student behavioral concerns.
