Transition Behavior Scale. Second Edition. Self-Report Version. Technical Manual.
McCarney, Stephen B.; Anderson, Paul D.
This technical manual provides an overview of the "Transition Behavior Scale-Second Edition Self-Report Version" (TBS-2 S-RV), an assessment that provides the means by which student behavior, which is predictive of employment and societal transition behavior, can be documented. Those students (ages 12-18) most likely to have problems in employment and society may then be identified for additional preparation, further assistance, or special consideration. The TBS-2 S-RV includes 62 items representing behavioral characteristics in a self-report format. The areas evaluated by the scale (work related, interpersonal relations, and social/community expectations) are those areas which evidence indicates related most directly to success in employment and societal transition. The test is designed to be completed in approximately 15 to 20 minutes. The manual describes characteristics of the test, uses of the test, instructional and intervention activities for transition planning, reliability and validity of the test, administration and scoring, and interpreting results of the tests. Appendices include information for converting raw score to subscale standard score and subscale percentile score. (Contains 42 references.) (CR)
