Eight Themes in Comprehensive Community Development: An Annotated Bibliography.
Lund, Louisa
The bibliography is aimed at managers of programs forging links between family support and community development. The bibliography begins with a brief explanation of the eight organizing themes: (1) supporting families; (2) focusing on youth; (3) building unity from diversity; (4) thinking in terms of assets; (5) seeing the big picture; (6) working collaboratively; (7) balancing process and product; and (7) drawing on multiple sources of funding. The annotations of 56 individual recent sources (government reports, periodical articles, and research reports published between 1991 and 1998) are then presented, sorted into a general resources category or the eight thematic categories listed above. Some entries appear in more than one category. (DLH)
