This open learning pack is designed to help instructors of information technology courses in Great Britain's further education sector to become effective tutors. The pack consists of four learning modules that are each designed to be completed in 30 hours. The modules consist of an introduction that outlines objectives and lists competencies addressed in the module and sections (units of instruction) that include the following: section objectives, instructional text, and exercises. Topics of the modules and sections are as follows: facilitating learning (how adults learn, approaches to learning, feedback, pace and review, supporting older learners); planning and delivering an initial information technology session; teaching methods and information technology (one-to-one teaching, small group teaching, whole-class teaching, demonstrations); designing and delivering an information technology course (introduction to session planning, learning aids, hints and tips, and two levels of information technology content).
