Student Enrollment, Full-time Equivalent (FTE), Staff/Faculty Information. Annual Statistical Report, 1997-98. Volume 33.
North Carolina Community Coll. System, Raleigh.
This document contains statistical information for the academic year 1997-1998 collected from each of the 58 community colleges in North Carolina, as well as historical information for an 11-year period. This was the first year in which the North Carolina Community College System used the semester system. In addition, it was the first year of implementing a reengineering of the curriculum programs. The reengineering changed many of the curriculum categories (college transfer, general education, technical, and vocational were replaced with associate degree, diploma, certificate, and transitional programs). Because of these changes, it was difficult to compare findings from past years. This report was organized in sections that provide information about student enrollment, full-time equivalents and college staff and faculty. The report also examined the above variables within various programs supported by the system: associate degree programs, certificate programs, curriculum programs, diploma programs, extension programs, basic skills programs, community service programs, the Focused Industry Training program, Human Resource Development programs, the Job Training Partnership Act, Learning Laboratory programs, industry programs, non-occupational programs, and occupational programs. Data are analyzed at the institutional level for each community college in North Carolina as well as at the system level. Results are presented in tabular form, with 50 tables providing all information. In addition, three supplemental data charts are appended. (TGO)
