This guide features 10 customizable, ready-to-run workshops for librarians wishing to establish or refine ongoing Internet training for staff members or patrons. Each workshop in the book includes an introduction, an objective, a timed lesson plan, tips, a sample script, and reproducible handouts. In order to provide for the variety of settings librarians work in, the sample workshops are set in different training environments. The workshops are: "Internet Train the Trainers," a three-part series to train library staff members in sound Internet training principles and practices they can use with patrons; "Getting Started on the World Wide Web," an introduction to the Web, designed as a small-group demonstration for patrons; "Using Search Engines and Finding Information on the Web," a hands-on workshop focusing on Internet search engines and subject directories; "Books and Literature on the Web," a hands-on introduction, with an emphasis on current and popular fiction; "College Information on the Web," a demonstration about higher-education resources on the Web; and "Introduction to HTML," a three-part, hands-on introduction to the programming language.
