Project STEPS: Developing a Community Wide Transition System Using the STEPS Model: Training Module Handouts.

This packet contains handouts for training school and community personnel to implement Project STEPS (Sequenced Transition to Education in the Public Schools), an interagency program to facilitate transition of young children with disabilities. A sample agenda for a 3-day training session is provided. Handouts are organized into the eight modules of the program which cover: (1) an overview of the STEPs model and transition systems development process; (2) the local team and effective team meetings; (3) the STEPS Model components; (4) transition system development process; (5) using the Helpful Entry Level Skills Checklist; (6) legal requirements; and (8) supplemental materials.
