The guide is one section of a resource kit designed to assist Peace Corps language instruction coordinators in countries around the world in understanding the principles underlying second language learning and teaching and in organizing instructional programs. Subsequent chapters focus on: basic principles of Peace Corps training and communicative language teaching; techniques of classroom management, including use of learner-centered activities, intervening in those activities, error correction, having discussions, and concluding a class session; and classroom activities (general language learning, listening, grammar).
